History of Kashi Vishwanath Temple
According to historians, the present form of Kashi Vishwanath Temple was constructed in the year 1780. Kashi Vishwanath Temple was built by Queen Ahilya Bai Holkar of Indore. At the same time, the two domes of Kashi Vishwanath Temple were covered with gold by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The history of Vishwanath Shivling located in the city of Mahadev is said to be centuries old.
