Nutritionist Shweta Shah tells in her video that Ayurveda also believes that drinking plain water is not enough for the body. In fact, the body needs electrolyte-rich water to properly absorb and retain water. Because if there is lack of minerals, sodium and essential nutrients in water, then it quickly goes out of the body, due to which the body starts feeling dehydrated.
What kind of water is important to drink?
According to nutritionist Shweta Shah, instead of drinking plain water, you should drink water by adding salt to it. It is an excellent source of sodium, which helps in retaining water in the body. Especially those who go to the gym or do yoga and heavy exercise, they should add a pinch of rock salt in 1 liter of water and drink it. This water should be drunk 15 minutes before working out. Apart from this, one should also drink ORS powder once a week, this method is absolutely best for those whose energy is always down.
Infused water will give hydration
The expert has also given some recipes of Infused Water, which will help you in increasing hydration along with taste. Talking about infused water, it is prepared from fresh fruits and vegetables. These are soaked in water for a few hours and then it is drunk. It is calorie free. Here we are telling some best options:
- 3 slices of apple, ½ inch piece of cinnamon along with 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 cardamom seeds and 2 basil leaves
- 5 curry leaves with 2 mint sprigs
- 1 fig, ½ inch cinnamon, 1 cardamom with 2 cloves
- 1 bay leaf with 1 star anise
