Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed to establish a 250-bed Level-1 Trauma Center and Center for Rural Health at Saifai Medical University. Special emphasis was laid on rapid treatment, integrative medicine units and health innovations in expressway accidents.
Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emphasized on the establishment of a 250-bed Level-1 Trauma Center at Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai (Etawah). This trauma center will be built near the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, so that the injured in road accidents and other emergencies can get immediate and high-class treatment.
Presiding over the second meeting of the Board of Governors of the university as Chancellor on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that the expressway is about 10 kilometers away from the university. Due to this distance, significant time is lost in treating accident victims. The proposed trauma center will be operated by the university itself.
Establishment of ‘Center for Rural Health’ for rural health services
Keeping in mind the health needs of rural areas, the Chief Minister directed to establish a ‘Center for Rural Health’ in the university. He said that a detailed action plan should be prepared for this.
The scheme will include tele-OPD, virtual OPD, digital data integration and mobile health outreach services. Many important decisions related to expansion of health services, strengthening of super specialty facilities and furthering medical education and research were taken in the meeting.
Preparation to build medical hub for western and central UP
The Chief Minister directed that Uttar Pradesh Medical Sciences University should be made a major center of high level medical, education and research for Western and Central Uttar Pradesh. He said that quality, sensitivity and timeliness should be ensured in every area of treatment, teaching and research.
Emphasis on innovation and best practices in health sector
The Chief Minister talked about giving priority to innovation in the health and medical sector. He instructed to study the best practices of major medical institutions of the country and implement them in the university system. He also stressed on effectively implementing the hub-and-spoke model to improve overall access and quality of health services.
Integrative Medicine Unit: Coordination of Allopathy and AYUSH
In the meeting, it was decided to establish an Integrative Medicine Unit in the university. Through this unit, patient-centric treatment will be given by combining allopathy and AYUSH methods. Under this, integrative OPD, special clinics, yoga and wellness centers will be established.
Health awareness will increase through community broadcast service
The Chief Minister directed the university to establish effective communication with the society. For this, community broadcast service will be started. Through this, health awareness, prevention of diseases, authentic information about government health schemes and educational material will be broadcasted.
