Where did the pulses go? Was there earlier, why is it missing now?
In the first version, it was clearly written that India would eliminate or reduce tariffs on many agricultural and food products of America. In this
- Dried Distillers Grain
- red tide
- tree nuts
- Fruit
- some pulses
- soybean oil
- Wine and Spirits
- Such products were included.
But in the updated factsheet the word “pulses” was completely removed. This change indicates that India probably did not want to make any concrete promises on pulses. Pulses are a very sensitive issue politically and socially in India, because it is related to the diet of the common man.
