Saptapadi is an important part of a Hindu wedding, but very few people know its real meaning. Recently, a Panditji explained to the bride and groom every word of the seven rounds and its importance in such a loving manner that his video has gone viral on social media.
Marriage is considered a bond of birth. During the wedding, the bride and groom take 7 steps with the fire as their witness, which is called Saptapadi. But many people do not know the deep meaning of Saptapadi, and the puja or marriage pundits also do not try to explain it to the bride and groom. Because of this many people do not know the meaning of Saptapadi. But recently, at a wedding, Panditji, while reciting shlokas in Sanskrit, explained the meaning of Saptapadi in English and Kannada so well that this video is now going viral on social media.
A user named Kiran Kumar S(@KiranKS) posted this video. He wrote, “Saptapadi or seven steps in Sanskrit, is the most important part of a Hindu marriage. These 7 steps strengthen the relationship between husband and wife. Each step has a special promise and meaning as per the Vedas. Here Panditji has explained each step in a very meaningful way.” He also told that this video has been sent to him by a relative and there is no information about the owner of the video.
In the viral video, when the bride and groom are taking the rounds of Saptapadi, Panditji explains in detail the meaning of each step. Vedas and scriptures say that if two people walk 7 steps together, they become friends. Panditji says, “The wife will take 7 steps on the pile of rice and you have to take her steps one by one. I will tell you the mantra, and you have to take the steps while chanting the mantra.”
