This most awaited film was not being released due to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) certificate being stuck for a long time. But now the decision of Madras High Court has given a big relief to the makers. This has rekindled the hopes of the film’s theatrical release.

The film’s producer KVN Productions had earlier sought withdrawal of its petition filed against the CBFC. Now Madras High Court has given permission to withdraw this petition. This means that the legal issues related to the film have been cleared to a great extent and now the film will be sent to the revising committee.

CBFC’s revising committee will decide on the certificate of ‘Jana Nayagan’
Now the next step will be the scrutiny of the film by the revising committee. This committee will decide whether the film will be given U, U/A or A certificate. Earlier the court had directed the board to give U/A certificate, but now the process will officially start again. According to industry trackers, this process can be completed in about 10 days. If everything happens on time, then ‘Jana Nayagan’ release date can also be announced very soon.
