Will India change its oil decisions under US pressure?
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri clearly said that India’s energy policy is not decided by the pressure of any one country, but by national interest. He stressed that India is a big energy consumer and imports crude oil from many countries to meet its needs. According to him, three things matter most for India in buying oil – availability of oil, right price and assurance of supply. These three factors are the backbone of India’s oil purchase policy.
