Sachin Tendulkar, Shubman Gill, Mithali Raj Lead Reactions As Indian Women’s Team Seal Historic Win At Lord’s

On the 24th anniversary of the stunning victory in the NatWest Trophy final of the Indian men’s cricket team at Lord’s, the Indian women’s cricket team etched history at the storied ground by winning the first-ever women’s test match at the venue by thrashing England by 270 runs in the one-off match under Harmanpreet Kaur’s captaincy.

This not only made the Indian team the first-ever women’s cricket team to win an international Test match at the ‘home of cricket’, but they also registered the fourth-biggest win (by runs) in the history of the longest format. No team has ever won a women’s Test on English soil by a bigger margin.

Indian cricket legend  , who is widely regarded as the greatest male player in the sport’s history, was present at the venue on the final day. He even spoke to the team before the start of play. Later, he took to X and hailed the victory.

“Every cricketer carries the dream of playing at Lord’s. Over the past four days, a new generation lived that dream as women’s Test cricket arrived at the Home of Cricket for the very first time.
