Akshat (unbroken rice)

In worship, Akshat means that which has not been damaged. It is a symbol of perfection. Keep in mind that the rice kept in the plate should not be broken. Offering Akshat to God is considered a symbol of happiness and prosperity.

kumkum and sandalwood

Any puja is incomplete without Tilak. Kumkum (Roli) and sandalwood are applied not only to the Lord, but also on the forehead of the worshipper. It is considered the center of concentration and energy.

Lamp

The lamp is a symbol of knowledge and light. Keep a ghee or oil lamp in the plate. It removes negativity and purifies the environment.

incense and incense sticks

The pleasant fragrance gives peace to the mind during puja. Burning incense or incense sticks makes the atmosphere of the house positive and the mind remains concentrated.

water urn

Keep a small pot or copper vessel filled with water in the puja thali. Water is necessary for bathing and purification of God.

Flowers are a symbol of devotion and tenderness. God becomes pleased by offering fresh flowers as per his choice. Never use stale or dry flowers.

Naivedya (offering)

To offer to God, keep something sweet, fruits or dry fruits in the plate. It shows our gratitude that whatever we have is given by God.

Betel nut is considered a symbol of Lord Ganesha. Keeping betel nut and betel leaf at the beginning of any auspicious work is a sign of good luck.

Mauli (Kalava)

This is also called Raksha Sutra. At the end of the puja, the pledge of protection is proved by tying Kalava on the wrist.

According to the belief, ringing the bell during Aarti drives away the evil powers from the surrounding area.
