IND vs PAK Match, T20 World Cup 2026: The group match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026 will now be played. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had earlier announced to boycott its match against India, which is to be held in Colombo on 15 February. This decision was taken on the orders of the Government of Pakistan, but after long talks with the ICC, Pakistan has withdrawn its decision.

International Cricket Council representatives Imran Khawaja and Mubashir Usmani had recently reached Lahore, where they held discussions with PCB officials. This meeting was organized by PCB. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam Bulbul also attended the meeting. The conversation took place in his presence because the entire controversy was related to Bangladesh’s exit from the tournament. The ICC made it clear to Pakistan about the possible financial penalty and other consequences for not playing the match, after which the PCB softened its stance.

Bangladesh also appealed to Pakistan to play the match
Along with ICC, three cricket boards also appealed to Pakistan to play matches against India, these included Sri Lanka Cricket, Emirates Cricket Board and Bangladesh Cricket Board. Although, Pakistan had put forward some demands before ICC in exchange of playing the match, but according to reports, ICC has not made any demand. However, Bangladesh Cricket Board has definitely got relief and will not have to face any loss.
