India Women vs England Women Lords Test: The Indian women’s cricket team created history in the only Test match played at the historic Lord’s ground in London. India has registered a memorable and historic victory by defeating host England by 270 runs in the women’s test match held for the first time on this ground which is known as the Mecca of cricket. In this match, the Indian team maintained its dominance in every department of the game. With this, the Indian team was successful in winning the Test match in England after 12 years.

Smriti Mandhana’s class in the first innings

Team India dominated this match from the beginning. India scored 285 runs in its first innings, which included Smriti Mandhana’s brilliant inning of 83 runs. Then captain Harmanpreet Kaur also scored 58 runs and Deepti Sharma contributed 57 runs. In response to which England’s first innings was reduced to just 170 runs. In which Kranti Gaur had the biggest contribution. Kranti Gaur took 5 wickets for 37 runs. Whereas, Sayli Satghare and Sneh Rana got 2 successes each.

Yastika Bhatia’s historic century

After gaining a lead of 115 runs on the basis of first innings, the Indian team scored a mountain of runs in its second innings. Yastika Bhatia played a century inning of 113 runs in 158 balls. At the same time, Smriti Mandhana managed to score 70 runs this time too. Then Richa Ghosh scored 50 runs in 52 balls. Due to which India declared its second innings on the score of 341/7 and set a big target of 457 runs for England to win.

Dominance of Indian bowlers

England, who set out to chase the big target of 457 runs, had a bad start once again. Indian fast bowler Kranti Gaur performed amazingly in the match. Kranti, who took 5 wickets in the first innings, bowled England’s legendary opener Tammy Beaumont for 0 on her very first ball in the second innings. After which the England team could not return to the match. Even though Amy Jones scored 54 runs, it was not enough to save the match. Sophie Eccleston also scored 50 runs in the end. But the England team was all out after scoring 186 runs. Sneh Rana took maximum 4 wickets in this innings. Whereas, Sayli Satghare, Kranti Gaur and Deepti Sharma took 2 wickets each.
