The achievements of law and order reforms, women safety, Mission Shakti Abhiyan and judicial reforms came to light in the Uttar Pradesh Economic Survey 2025-26. Reduction in crime, technical policing and improved security environment strengthened public and investor confidence.
Lucknow. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the report of the Economic Survey of Uttar Pradesh Government for the year 2025-26 in the House in the budget session of the Assembly on Monday. In this report, the achievements of the government related to law and order, security system and administrative reforms in the state have been mentioned in detail.
He said that the state government has kept strengthening law and order among its top priorities. Strict action was taken against organized crime and mafia networks, which has yielded positive results. There has been a decline in the crime rate and this has increased the confidence of the general public as well as investors.
Role of women police beat, CCTV and anti Romeo squad for women safety
According to the Economic Survey, modern technology based policing has been promoted in the state. CCTV networks, digital case management system and strict action against criminals have improved the efficiency and accountability of the police. This has provided an environment for people to lodge complaints fearlessly and crime control has been strengthened.
For the safety of women, the government has effectively implemented the zero tolerance policy. Under the Safe City project, women police beats, CCTV cameras and anti-Romeo squads have been deployed. This has helped in ensuring the safety of women in public places and workplaces.
Apart from this, through the Uttar Pradesh Factory Act (Amendment) 2025, steps have been taken towards providing equal opportunities to women in industrial work, especially in night shift.
Mission Shakti promotes women empowerment and social participation
Under Mission Shakti Abhiyan, an effort has been made to link women’s safety, health and employment services together. This has increased the self-reliance of women and given new impetus to their participation in the society.
To strengthen the judicial system, fast track courts and e-courts have been established, which has accelerated the disposal of cases. It was also stated in the Economic Survey that through the Public Trust Act, a transparent and trustworthy governance system has been promoted by decriminalizing minor procedural offences.
Better law and order to promote investment and development in Uttar Pradesh
The overall effect of these steps of the government was that law and order has improved in the state. Women safety, judicial reforms and administrative transparency have played an important role in making Uttar Pradesh a more safe and investment friendly state.
