Darbhanga: In Darbhanga district of Bihar, a six-year-old girl was brutally raped and murdered. On the basis of the statement of eyewitnesses, the police have arrested a person named Vikas Mahato. After the girl went missing, the family and local people were searching for her when they heard strange barking sounds of dogs near a nearby pond. After searching here, the girl’s body was found.
The previous day, the girl had gone to play near the pond with neighborhood friends. When she did not return for a long time, friends told that Vikas Mahato had dragged her away. After this the local people started searching the area, but the girl could not be found. Meanwhile, the sound of dogs barking was heard.
Police reached the spot and took the body to the hospital. Local people protested fiercely after the postmortem report confirmed that the girl was brutally raped. After taking statements from the girl’s friends, the police soon arrested the 22-year-old accused. He has been produced in the court and sent on remand.
