Ashadh Gupta Navratri 2026
Gupt Navratri Mahavidya Sadhana: In Sanatan Dharma, the holy festival of Navratri is celebrated four times a year. Apart from Chaitra and Sharadiya Navratri, Gupt Navratri is also celebrated twice a year. Most people know only about Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri. In both these Navratri, satvik worship and fasting of nine forms of Goddess Durga is done. Gupt Navratri is different from common Navratri. Gupt Navratri is celebrated for the first time in the year in the month of Ashadh and second time in the month of Magh. Gupt Navratri is considered to be the time of secret sadhana and tantric worship.
Unlike Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri, Gupt Navratri is celebrated peacefully. No big public festival or community program is organized in this. Ten Mahavidyas are worshiped in Gupt Navratri. According to Drik Panchang, this year Gupt Navratri of Ashadh month is starting from 15th July and will continue till 23rd July. Let us know who are those ten Mahavidyas, who are worshiped during Gupt Navratri.
These are those ten Mahavidyas
Ma Kali: Mother Kali comes first among the 10 Mahavidyas. He was born to destroy Raktabeej. During Gupt Navratri, Tantriks attain divine powers by worshiping Goddess Kali.
Mother Tara: Mother Tara provides relief from all the problems of life. Aghori worship Goddess Tara. By worshiping them, one also attains peace and prosperity.
Maa Tripura Sanduri: In the scriptures, Mother Tripura Sanduri is considered the most beautiful of the three worlds. One gets salvation by worshiping Mother Tripura Sundari. Tantriks also worship them to hypnotize someone.
Mother Bhuneshwari: Mother Bhuneshwari nurtures the entire world. Mother creates sky, air, earth, fire and water. There is financial gain with the blessings of mother.
Mother Chhinnamasta: Maa Chhinnamasta is considered to be related to the great flood in the scriptures. By worshiping Maa Chhinnamasta during Gupt Navratri one attains the success of Maa Saraswati.
Maa Tripura Bhairavi: She has been called Bandichod Mata. It is believed that their sadhana frees one from court cases, imprisonment and many other bondages. She was born from the shadow of Mother Mahakali.
Mother Dhumavati: Mother Dhumavati was born from the smoke coming out of the body of Mother Sati. By worshiping Goddess Dhumavati during Gupt Navratri, one gets the knowledge of controlling diseases, grief and sorrow.
Maa Baglamukhi: By worshiping Maa Baglamukhi during Gupt Navratri, one achieves victory over enemies and opponents. During the Mahabharata period, Shri Krishna and Arjun also worshiped Baglamukhi Maa to achieve victory over the Kauravas.
Mother Matangi: Mother Matangi is the presiding deity of speech and music. By worshiping them one gets all the happiness of family life. She is also the goddess to whom Juthan is offered.
Mother Kamla: Mother Kamala is the goddess of fortune, respect, purity and benevolence. Mother Kamala is also called Tantrik Lakshmi. Their worship gives the same results as worshiping Goddess Lakshmi.
