Rahi Tourist Lodge in UP: Tourism is getting a new direction under the vision of Yogi government. Rahi tourist lodges are now being built in small towns and eco tourism places along with big religious cities. This will provide better stay to tourists and strengthen the local economy.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh is no longer limited to just big religious cities. Following the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the scope of tourism in the state has increased rapidly. The number of tourists has reached record levels in cities like Kashi, Ayodhya, Mathura, Prayagraj and Agra. Now the focus of Yogi government is on small towns and new tourist destinations, so that every district can be connected with tourism. The Tourism Department and UP State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) are jointly building Rahi Tourist Lodges in different districts of the state. Along with this, renovation and beautification work of the old tourist lodge is also going on. Its objective is to provide clean and safe accommodation to the passengers, good food facilities and employment to the local people.

11 new Rahi tourist lodges will be built

The Tourism Department is constructing a total of 11 new Rahi Tourist Lodges and Bungalows in different districts of the state. All these projects are being developed on Public Private Partnership model, so that the facilities are modern and maintenance can be done in a better way. New tourist bungalows are being built in religious and historical areas like Gokul village of Mathura, Bateshwar of Agra, Soron and Sitapur of Kasganj. A large number of devotees visit these places every year, but till now they had difficulty in getting accommodation.

Eco tourism will get direct benefit

Yogi government’s emphasis is not only on religious tourism but also on promoting eco-tourism. Under this thinking, Rahi Tourist Lodges are being built near natural areas like Patna Bird Sanctuary of Etah, Sandi Lake of Hardoi and Narora of Bulandshahr. Thousands of birds visit these places every year and these areas are considered special for nature lovers. With the construction of the lodge, tourists will now be able to stay and see these places thoroughly instead of returning within an hour or two.

Facilities are being prepared in other districts also

Apart from this, new tourist lodges are also being built in Bhupiyamau of Pratapgarh, Deokali of Auraiya, Kachla Ghat of Badaun and Kandhla of Shamli. These areas remain crowded due to Ganga Ghat, religious places and local fairs. With the construction of Rahi Tourist Lodge, the identity of these places will increase and the local people will get new employment opportunities.

Accommodation capacity increased in Prayagraj

Lakhs of devotees from across the country and the world arrive in Prayagraj during Mahakumbh and Magh Mela. Keeping this in mind, UPSTDC has constructed a new building at Hotel Rahi Triveni Darshan located on the banks of river Yamuna. Due to this the living capacity here has increased significantly. Also, the interior work of Hotel Rahi Ilavart has been completed, due to which tourists are now getting better facilities than before.

Change in appearance in Varanasi and Chitrakoot also

The facilities at Rahi Tourist Lodge located in Sarnath of the religious city Varanasi are also being upgraded. Buddhist devotees and tourists coming here will now get modern facilities. The renovation of both the parts of Rahi Tourist Lodge located in Chitrakoot has been completed. Renovation of the tourist lodge is also going on at a fast pace in Balrampur, so that in the coming time, the tourists there can get a better experience.

Local people will benefit directly

Rahi Tourist Lodge will prove beneficial not only for the tourists but also for the local people. These projects will provide employment to hotel staff, taxi drivers, guides, shopkeepers and small businessmen. This will strengthen the economy of small towns and will also have an impact on migration. The aim of the Yogi government is clear to develop Uttar Pradesh not just as a religious state but as a strong national and international tourism centre. Rahi Tourist Lodge of UPSTDC is playing an important role in this direction. When all these projects are completed in the coming time, the tourism map of Uttar Pradesh will look stronger than before.
