The budget session of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly will start from February 9. Earlier, in the all-party meeting held in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to the opposition for healthy discussion and cooperation for the smooth functioning of the House.
The budget session of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly is going to start from 9th February (Monday). Just before the session, an all-party meeting was held at Vidhan Bhavan on Sunday, which was presided over by Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana. The objective of this meeting was to conduct the upcoming budget session peacefully and effectively.
Chief Minister Yogi’s direct appeal to the opposition
In the all-party meeting, Chief Minister and Leader of the House Yogi Adityanath appealed for positive cooperation from the opposition parties. He said that the Assembly is the most important forum of democracy, where there should be serious and healthy discussion on issues related to the public. The Chief Minister made it clear that the government wants that there should be open debate on issues of public interest in the House, so that the development of the state can gain momentum.

‘Development and solution only through healthy discussion’
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that healthy discussion not only strengthens democratic values but also provides solutions to people’s problems. He reminded the public representatives that the proceedings of the House are linked to the expectations of the public and any kind of obstruction in it harms the democratic system.
Emphasis on keeping the House free from obstructions
The Leader of the House urged the members of all parties not to allow any kind of obstruction in the functioning of the House. He said that it is the responsibility of every public representative to make the House a platform for dialogue and solution, and not for confrontation.
Assembly Speaker also sought everyone’s cooperation
Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, who was presiding over the meeting, also appealed to all political parties for cooperation in the smooth functioning of the House. He said that the budget session decides the economic and social direction of the state, in such a situation all the members should follow decorum and parliamentary traditions.

In this important all-party meeting, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party President and Cabinet Minister Omprakash Rajbhar, Nishad Party President and Cabinet Minister Dr. Sanjay Nishad, Congress’s Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’, Nishad Party’s Ramesh Singh, Lok Dal’s Rajpal Baliyan, Apna Dal’s Ramniwas Verma and senior leaders of many parties were present.
Public’s eyes fixed on budget session
Political analysts believe that this all-party meeting held before the budget session shows the government’s intention to make the House a platform for dialogue instead of confrontation. Now it remains to be seen how much this consensus and positive atmosphere can be maintained within the House in the coming days.
