This will make the process of giving property rights to people living in unauthorized colonies more fast and transparent.
What is PM-UDAY scheme and why is it important?
PM-UDAY (Pradhan Mantri Unauthorized Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana) is an important scheme of the Central Government, which aims to provide legal ownership rights over their properties to the people living in unauthorized colonies of Delhi. Under the scheme, property ownership documents are provided to eligible residents. This reduces the difficulties in buying and selling property, taking loan from the bank and other legal processes.
Emphasis on rapid implementation of revised PM-UDAY scheme
Delhi government is emphasizing on implementing the revised PM-UDAY scheme in a more effective manner. The aim of the government is that the eligible people should get ownership rights as soon as possible and the problems pending for years should be resolved. The Chief Minister also emphasized in his letter that with better coordination between the Center and Delhi Government, the benefits of the scheme can be extended to the people on a wide scale.
Lakhs of families can get benefits
A large number of families have been living in many unauthorized colonies of Delhi for years. With the effective implementation of the revised PM-UDAY scheme, these families are expected to get the benefit of legal protection, property rights and various government facilities in future. If the Central Government approves financial assistance of Rs 100 crore in the first phase, the process of implementation of the scheme may gain more momentum.
