Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given a big update on India’s first bullet train project. He said that the work of the project is going on at a fast pace and the first section between Surat to Bilimora will be started next year.
Hyderabad: There is good news for the people waiting for the country’s first Bu-Late train. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that the first part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project will start next year. The remaining parts will also be opened gradually in phases. He gave this information at a program in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Ashwini Vaishnav told that the bullet train will first run between Surat and Bilimora. After this, the next section service will be started from Vapi to Surat, then from Vapi to Ahmedabad, then from Ahmedabad to Thane and finally from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. The minister made it clear that the project will be started phase wise in different sections from next year.
He also informed that the work of reconstructing 261 railway stations of the country has been completed. The minister said the three new high-speed bullet train corridors approved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will change the face of Hyderabad. These corridors are – Pune-Hyderabad, Hyderabad-Chennai and Hyderabad-Bengaluru. These projects will prove to be a big game-changer for this entire area. This will make Hyderabad a high-speed hub, lead to massive development and fully integrate the economy.
A look at the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project
This project is being built with the financial and technical help of the Japanese government. This is a 508 km long route from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. This corridor will pass through Maharashtra, Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. There will be a total of 12 stations on this route, out of which the foundation work of 8 stations has been completed. The foundation of this project was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the then Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe in Ahmedabad in September 2017.
