There was a stir in Australian cricket when Ash Gardner was accused by his wife Monica Wright of having an illicit affair. Monica Wright said that Gardner had an illicit relationship with her teammate Georgia Wall. He has cheated them. Ash Gardner is the captain of the Australian women’s cricket team. He married Monica Wright last year i.e. in 2025. However, there was a separation between the two, after which Monica and Gardner were living separately.
Wife publicly accused of illicit relationship
According to the report of Daily Mail, Ash Gardner suddenly left the house one day and left only her wedding ring. Monica Wright, referring to the Daily Mail report, posted a picture of Georgia Wall on Instagram and wrote in its caption – “This is the one with whom my wife cheated on me.” It is clear that through this Monica Wright has hinted towards an illicit relationship between Ash Gardner and Georgia Wall.
Gardner and Wall played together in the Women’s T20 World Cup
Both Ash Gardner and Georgia Wall were part of the Australian team in the recently concluded Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. Australia had won that tournament, a week after which the news of illicit relationship between the two cricketers created a stir.
No statement came from Gardner
No official response has been given yet by Ash Gardner or Cricket Australia regarding this. In such a situation, it would be too early to say anything about the substance of the allegations. Well, this has become a topic of discussion in Australian cricket.
Gardner’s cricket career
Ash Gardner is the vice-captain of the Australian cricket team and is also one of the most experienced players of the team. As an all-rounder, he has played 207 international matches for Australia so far, in which apart from scoring more than 3500 runs, he has taken 239 wickets.
