Thailand Fire: A massive fire that broke out late Monday night at Na Ladprao pub in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, quickly turned a celebration into mourning. At least 27 people died in this tragic accident, while 63 people were injured, out of which the condition of 22 is said to be very serious. Initial investigation has revealed that the poisonous smoke spread after the fire and the decorative material on the roof became the biggest reason for this tragedy.
How the entire pub became a death trap in 5 minutes?
According to eyewitnesses and officials, the incident began after midnight. The musicians performing on the stage first saw smoke rising from the circuit breaker. After a few seconds the power went out and then there was a huge explosion. After this the fire spread so fast that people did not even get a chance to get out. Within no time the entire pub was filled with thick black smoke. Many people could not find their way out and were stuck inside.

Did interior decoration increase the destruction?
According to Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, ‘After the fire, the decorative material on the ceiling was the first to catch fire. This material started burning rapidly within a few minutes and poisonous smoke spread throughout the pub. This was the reason why many people died due to suffocation in the smoke instead of getting burnt in the fire.
Why were most of the bodies found near bathrooms?
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said most of the dead were found near a bathroom at the back of the pub. It is believed that people ran backwards to escape the smoke and fire, but the dense poisonous smoke did not give them a chance to get out.
The condition of 22 people is still critical
A total of 63 people have been injured in the accident. Of these, the condition of 22 people remains critical and they are undergoing treatment in different hospitals. The fire department brought the fire under control after about 30 minutes of effort, but by then the entire pub was burnt to ashes.
How did the fire start?
According to the officials, the things that have come to light in the initial investigation include smoke rising from the circuit breaker near the stage, power failure shortly thereafter, followed by an explosion, rapid spread of fire to the roof and poisonous smoke filling the entire pub due to decorative material. However, the final cause of the fire has not been officially confirmed yet. Investigation of the matter is ongoing.
Such accidents have happened before in Thailand
This is not the first time such a big fire has broken out at an entertainment venue in Thailand. In 2022, 14 people died in a fire at a music pub in eastern Thailand. In 2009, a fire broke out during New Year’s celebrations at Santika Nightclub in Bangkok, killing 66 people and injuring more than 200. This new accident has once again raised serious questions on the security arrangements of public entertainment places.
