SP cannot tolerate a Muslim leader who speaks: Imran Masood. Sp Cannot Tolerate A Muslim Leader Who Speaks Says Imran Masood

Congress MP Imran Masood hit back at SP leader Udayveer Singh and said that SP cannot tolerate a Muslim leader who speaks. He also said that in 2024, SP was able to win 37 seats only because of its alliance with Congress.

Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh) [भारत]July 13 (ANI): Congress MP Imran Masood has hit back at Samajwadi Party leader Udayveer Singh, claiming that SP has benefited from the alliance with Congress in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He alleged that the party cannot tolerate an outspoken Muslim leader. Recently, Udayveer Singh had said that Imran Masood should not be taken seriously and there was no discussion on any alliance with him. The SP leader had stressed that such matters would be decided only by the top leadership of the party.

‘Got 37 seats because of alliance’

Responding to this, Masood said, “It is the Samajwadi Party that is crying out for an alliance… and it is because of the alliance that you could get 37 seats in 2024; otherwise, you could not even cross 120 seats in 2022.” He further alleged, “The Samajwadi Party cannot tolerate a Muslim leader… or a leader who speaks, and such a leader is now in the Congress.”

War of words before 2027 elections

This war of words between the two leaders has started before the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Congress and Samajwadi Party had contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections together as part of the India Bloc. The alliance performed brilliantly, with the Samajwadi Party emerging as the largest party from Uttar Pradesh and the Congress winning six seats. It is expected that both the parties will also contest the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in alliance, although no official announcement has been made yet. (ANI)
