Mahesh Manjrekar’s wife, Marathi actress Medha Manjrekar, has been diagnosed with cancer. She revealed through an emotional Instagram post on Sunday. Medha has been low-key on social media, and soon after her post went viral, Marathi celebrities including Swwapnil Joshi, Neena Kulkarni, Manava Naik and Nehha Pendse sent good wishes for her healthy recovery. Medha is an actor who has primarily worked in acclaimed Marathi movies and a few Hindi films. She is actress Saiee Manjrekar and Gauri Ingawale’s mother. Medha shared pictures from the hospital on Instagram while revealing the diagnosis.

Medha wrote on Instagram, “As one phase of my treatment comes to an end and my birthday approaches, I find myself looking back. Not at the diagnosis. Not at the surgery. Not at the chemotherapy. Not at the radiation. I remember grace.”
She further mentioned that every time the situation felt difficult, ‘someone appeared to walk beside me’. “Looking back, I know those weren’t coincidences. That was God’s way of holding my hand. During this journey, I realised that God doesn’t always appear before us in a divine form. He came into my life as my Gurus, my doctors, my nurses, my family, my friends, and even as someone who was once a stranger but became a blessing,” she added.
Medha credited her children for being pillars of support and holding her hand throughout the journey. She further thanked Mahesh for being there. In her caption, she recalled, “When treatment took away my appetite, someone always knew what I could eat. A box of dhoklas. Soft idlis. Gulpapdi, Pani puri on the day I suddenly craved it. Simple food…Wrapped in extraordinary love.”
Reacting to her mother’s Instagram post, Saiee commented, “strongest galllllll (sic).”
Who is Medha Manjrekar?
Medha has acted in critically acclaimed Marathi films such as Kaksparsh, De Dhakka, Natsamrat, Fakta Ladh Mhana, Juna Furniture, Mee Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy, Ek Radha Ek Meera and Dabangg 3 among many others.
Medha and Mahesh tied the knot in 1995. The latter was previously married to Deepa Mehta, who died in her 60s on September 27, 2025. He has two children with his former wife – daughter Ashwami and son Satya.
In 2021, Mahesh was diagnosed with high-grade urinary bladder cancer. He underwent major surgery in Mumbai. In a previous interview, Medha recalled the emotional struggle the family went through during Manjrekar’s battle with the ‘Big C’.
