Locals alleged that a crane reached the spot nearly one-and-a-half hours late, hampering the speed of rescue operations. Many senior police officers are currently present at the site to oversee the situation.

The building was reportedly under construction, with two floors nearly completed while work was still underway. A restaurant named Delhi Non-Veg was operating in the building at the time of the incident and is believed to have had several customers and around 10–12 staff members inside.

Five to six people have been rescued so far and shifted to the hospital by ambulance, where their condition is said to be critical. Nearly 28 children are still feared trapped beneath the debris.

A large crowd has gathered at the site along with rescue teams. As a precautionary measure, the administration has cut off power supply to the entire area. Police officials have, for now, refrained from commenting further on the incident.
