Official website of 8th Pay Commission launched
8th Pay Commission: The long wait for lakhs of central employees and pensioners across the country is going to end soon. Taking a big and concrete step towards change and increase in the pay structure, the government has made the official website of the 8th Central Pay Commission live. The Commission has not only launched the website, but in a show of transparency has directly asked the employees and stakeholders what kind of changes they want to see in their pay structure.
Now convey your feelings directly to the government
The Pay Commission has decided to make its functioning completely digital and inclusive. The Commission has issued a statement clarifying that it is inviting views, opinions and inputs from ministries, departments and employee organizations as well as from common employees and pensioners. For this, the Commission has partnered with ‘MyGov’ portal. This simply means that now even an ordinary employee can present his views before the Commission.
The Commission believes that in the process of wage determination, the participation of those who are directly affected by it is most important. Whether you are a serving employee, a retired pensioner, or a member of a union, you can register your opinion through the official website (https://8cpc.gov.in/) or by directly visiting the MyGov portal.
The future of your salary is hidden in these questions
The Pay Commission has not only sought suggestions, but has prepared a systematic questionnaire. The Commission has asked 18 important questions, the answers to which will lay the foundation of the future salary structure. This questionnaire is quite detailed and covers everything from economic issues to salary structure. For example, the Commission has asked what ‘guiding philosophy’ the Pay Commission should adopt in view of the country’s economic development, inflation and financial pressure on the government.
Apart from this, opinion has also been sought on what the fitment factor, which is an important basis for salary increase, should indicate and what its target should be. The question is also whether the increment should be the same for all pay scales or different? Even suggestions have been sought on the scale of determining the salary of top officials at the secretary level. You have time till March 16, 2026 to answer these questions.
The era of pen and paper is over, the entire process will be digital.
The Commission has made it clear that it will not consider suggestions sent on physical paper, letter or email. To keep the entire process centralized, all responses will be accepted through MyGov portal only. However, the Commission has assured that the identity of the respondents will be kept completely confidential, so that the employees can express their views without any fear or hesitation.
