The Israeli military said it has identified missiles launched toward Israel from Iran, and said its defensive systems were activated. “A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel,” the Israel Defense Forces said.

Shortly before, Iranian state media reported Israel launched fresh attacks on Iran’s capital Tehran. Israel has yet to officially comment on the ceasefire. According to the reports, US President Donald Trump made a series of phone calls to members of Congress and others about how the freshly-brokered ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran came together. The White House was largely silent throughout the day on Monday, leaving virtually all communication to the president’s social media account.
