When the saint got the soldiers married, the king considered it a disobedience to orders and imprisoned Saint Valentine. He was hanged on 14 February. People started celebrating this day as Valentine of Love in his memory, because he had united lovers. If we talk about the history of Propose Day, we do not find any such concrete evidence. There is a story about the tradition of proposing with a ring on this day that in 1477, Archduke Maximilian of Australia proposed to Mary of Burgundy by gifting her a diamond ring. It is believed that in this way the ritual of wearing a ring for engagement became popular among the people and with time it became a tradition to propose with the ring to express love or to start a new relationship.
