In a major crackdown on organised crime syndicate, the Delhi Police has arrested a key aide of Arshdeep Singh Dalla who provided arms and weapons to the gang.
Dalla is a designated pro Khalistani terrorist under UAPA and is presently hiding in Canada. India has asked Canada to extradite Dalla who is chief of Khalistan Tiger Force a proscribed terror outfit
Accused – Ekamjot Singh Sandhu – is accused of running a gun trafficking for the syndicate and four semi-automatic pistols have been seized from his possession.
“Recovered pistols were meant for supplying to the members of the syndicate run by Paramjeet Singh @ Pamma Bhikhi in Punjab,” said Additional DCP (south east district) Aishwarya Sharma.
STF (southeast district) team led by inspector Shiv Kumar and head constable Rajesh had mounted surveillance after they received information that Delhi and Punjab gangsters were receiving weapons from Madhya Pradesh based arm suppliers.
“After efforts of more than a month, members of an interstate illegal firearm syndicate being run by the cadres of Arsh Dalla gang namely Babbu Dalema based in UAE and Paramjeet Singh aka Pamma Bhikhi were identified,” said Delhi Police in a statement on Monday.
Arshdeep Dalla gang has fierce rivalry with Lawrence Bishnoi gang which led to killing of Sukhdool Singh Gill in Winnipeg Canada in September 2023.
In May 2022, a Red Notice was issued notice against Arshdeep Dalla and he was declared an individual terrorist in January 2023. Six months later India asked Canada for his provisional arrest, but the request was declined. In October 2024, he was arrested by Ontario police in an unrelated shooting incident. India again requested for his extradition. A month later Ontario court released him on bail.
Ekamjot Singh -who is an active member of Arshdeep Dalla – had got a consignment of weapons from Burhanpur MP and was nabbed when he was on his to Punjab. Delhi Police has seized four semi-automatic pistols, two pistols from his possession.
