Mumbai: Indian cricketers Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy, along with some members of the support staff, visited Shree Siddhivinayak Ganpati Temple in Mumbai. Team India will begin its ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign against USA at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. Members of the Indian cricket team also performed puja at Shri Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple. Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, India will defend its T20 World Cup title in the 2026 edition.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup begins today (February 7) and will end on March 8. The first match of the 20-team tournament is between Pakistan and Netherlands, who begin their campaign at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo on Saturday. Suryakumar Yadav and his team will also start their T20 WC 2026 campaign on Saturday itself. The Men in Blue are set to face the United States at the Wankhede Stadium today.
After America, India will face Namibia in their second group-stage encounter on February 12 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After this, India’s match will be held on 15th February against R.K. Colombo, Colombo. It is to be played against Pakistan at Premadasa Stadium. However, there is a cloud of uncertainty over the India vs Pakistan match as Pakistan had earlier announced to boycott the match. India’s last group-stage match is against Netherlands on February 18 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
India are in great form in this big tournament, having recently defeated New Zealand 4-1 in the five-match series at home. In this series, players like Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav were seen in excellent form.
