Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor attended the prayer meet of her former husband and businessman Sunjay Kapur, held at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi.
In an emotionally charged atmosphere, Karisma stood beside her children Samaira and Kiaan, as they paid their final respects. Also present were her sister Kareena Kapoor Khan and brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan, standing by the family during this difficult moment.
The gathering marked a rare moment of unity as Karisma was seen offering prayers alongside Sunjay’s wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur. The visuals from the meet showed Karisma and her children with folded hands in prayer, while Priya sat quietly in reflection. The scene was solemn and heavy with emotion.
An Emotional Reunion
Karisma and Sunjay’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, stood by their mother, visibly moved as they remembered their father. Sunjay Kapur’s funeral took place earlier on June 19 in New Delhi. Photos from the funeral had shown a heartbroken Karisma consoling her son Kiaan, who was seen crying inconsolably during the last rites. A Sudden, Tragic Loss During a Polo Match
Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12 in London after suffering a fatal heart attack. The incident occurred during a polo match when he reportedly swallowed a bee mid-game. The resulting severe allergic reaction proved fatal, despite medical attention.
Sunjay was previously married to designer Nandita Mahtani before marrying Karisma Kapoor in 2003. The two separated in 2014 and finalised their divorce in 2016. He later married Priya Sachdev Kapur, with whom he has a son, Azarias. He also leaves behind a half-daughter, Safira, from Priya’s previous marriage with businessman-actor Vikram Chatwal, and his mother Rani Surinder Kapur.
