Iran has issued a stark warning to the United States following a series of airstrikes on its nuclear infrastructure, with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi declaring that Iran “reserves all options” to defend its sovereignty and national interests.
Calling the American attack a “grave violation” of international law, Araghchi said the response would carry “everlasting consequences.”
The strikes, carried out on Sunday, targeted Iran’s most critical nuclear sites, Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. “All planes are now outside of Iran airspace,” Trump stated on his Truth Social account, adding that a “full payload of bombs” had been dropped on Fordow, a fortified underground facility central to Iran’s nuclear program. “All planes are safely on their way home,” he added.
Iranian Officials Remain Defiant
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation confirmed the strikes but insisted that its nuclear development would not be derailed. In a statement, the agency said, “Despite the evil conspiracies of its enemies, with the efforts of thousands of its revolutionary and motivated scientists and experts, it will not allow the development of this national industry, which is the result of the blood of nuclear martyrs, to be stopped.”
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported that the Israeli Air Force was actively intercepting the threats and striking where necessary. “At this time, the IAF is operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat,” said the IDF, advising the public to follow guidance from the Home Front Command and avoid sharing footage or details of the impact locations online.
The Israeli military later confirmed a second wave of Iranian missiles en route to Israel, intensifying fears of a wider regional war.
Trump Declares Strikes A ‘Spectacular Success’
In a nationally televised address, Trump celebrated the operation as a major success. “Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success,” he said. “Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated. Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace.”
