Under Guru Gorakhnath Swasthya Seva Yatra, NMO organized free health camps in 7 districts of UP bordering Nepal. More than 70 thousand people got service on the first day. CM Yogi appreciated the campaign.
Lucknow. The three-day Guru Gorakhnath Swasthya Seva Yatra is being organized by the National Medicos Organization (NMO) on behalf of Awadh and Gorakh province, in collaboration with Shri Guru Gorakhnath Seva Nyas and other partner organizations. This journey will continue till 8 February. Under this, free health camps were organized on Friday in remote and Tharu tribe dominated villages of seven districts bordering Nepal. These camps have been organized in Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur and Pilibhit districts. Health services were provided to more than 70,000 people on the very first day.
Sixth phase of service project ongoing from 2019
This is the sixth stop of this healthcare journey that has been going on continuously since 2019. In this year’s Yatra, more than 1,000 doctors will reach the border rural areas and treat more than 3 lakh patients during three days.
CM Yogi congratulated NMO and volunteers
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has congratulated all the doctors, volunteers and organizers associated with this Seva Yatra. In a video message released on social media, the Chief Minister said that this yatra is dedicated to public welfare and public service and is lighting the lamp of health, service and social consciousness in the India-Nepal border areas.
Message of Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath: Welfare of all, upliftment of all – CM Yogi
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath ji showed the society the path of yoga, penance and compassion. His clear message was – everyone’s welfare, everyone’s upliftment. He said that from 2019 till now, through this health service journey, lakhs of citizens have got the benefit of free consultation, medicines, tests and health awareness. More than 2.18 lakh people were provided health services in the Yatra organized in February last year.
Health care in border and deprived areas a priority for the government
CM Yogi said that the government has given top priority to health awareness and service in border and deprived areas. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double engine government of the state is continuously working on disease prevention, public awareness and development of health infrastructure along with treatment.
Expansion of social consciousness among Tharu and Vantangiya society
The Chief Minister said that this Health Service Yatra is spreading the light of health, service and social consciousness among the Tharu tribe and Vantangiya community in the areas along the India-Nepal border. This campaign service itself is an inspiring example of establishing spiritual practice and health care as national service.
All-round development of tribal society is the top priority of the government
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that after the year 2017, the government has given Vantangiya villages the status of revenue villages and connected them with identity, respect and all the basic facilities of governance. He said that serious diseases like encephalitis have been effectively controlled through timely strategy, vaccination and public participation. Expansion of basic facilities in border areas and all-round development of tribal society is the priority of the government.
More than 155 health camps organized in 7 districts
General Secretary of NMO Awadh Province, Dr. Shivam Mishra said that the Health Service Yatra started simultaneously in all the seven districts.

- Balrampur: 40 camps
- Shravasti: 25 camps
- Bahraich: 30 camps
- Siddharthnagar: 10 camps
- Maharajganj: 10 camps
About 1,000 doctors are providing services in these camps. On the very first day, more than 70,000 people were given health check-up, free medicines and awareness on topics like balanced diet, menstrual hygiene etc.
Huge health fair organized in every district on 8th February
This healthcare journey will continue on 7th and 8th February also. A huge health fair will be organized in every district on 8th February. Along with NMO, organizations like Ekal Abhiyan, Seema Jagran Manch, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Seva Bharti also have active support in this service campaign.
