Youngest century in U19 World Cup
By scoring a century at the age of 14 years and 316 days, Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest batsman to score a century in the Under-19 World Cup. Earlier this record was in the name of Pakistan’s Babar Azam, who had scored a century in 2010 at the age of 15 years and 92 days. Along with this, Vaibhav also broke Unmukt Chand’s record of unbeaten 111 runs (2012) in the Under-19 World Cup final.

Suryavanshi scored the second fastest century in U19 World Cup history by completing his century in just 55 balls. Only Australia’s Will Malaichuk (51 balls) has scored a faster century than him in this tournament. By completing 150 runs in 71 balls, he also made the record of fastest 150 at Under-19 level.
New history in strike rate and sixes too
Suryavanshi’s strike rate in this inning of 175 runs was 218.75, which is the highest strike rate of any innings playing at least 50 balls in the U19 World Cup. He hit 15 sixes, which is the most in an innings in the history of Under-19 ODI. Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit 30 sixes throughout the tournament, the most by any player in Under-19 World Cup history. In 25 ODI innings of Under-19, he has hit a total of 110 sixes, which is double that of the second placed player.
439 runs in the tournament, consecutive 50+ scores
In this World Cup, Suryavanshi played four 50+ innings and his strike rate was more than 100 in all the innings. He became the first player to do so. His total score in the tournament was 439 runs. Thanks to Suryavanshi’s historic innings in the final, India scored 411/9 runs in 50 overs. This is the first 350+ score in U19 World Cup knockout history. Earlier, India’s highest score was 349/6 (2016 quarter-final vs Namibia).
