Sensational Sooryanshi powers India’s stunning win

India’s sensational win was set up by the brilliance of Sooryavanshi. The 14-year-old prodigy played the most dominant innings in the U-19 World Cup history to power India to the highest-ever total (411/9) in a U-19 WC final.

Sooryavanshi’s incredible onslaught included an astonishing 15 sixes and as many fours. His 80-ball 175 knocked the stuffing out of England.

Sooryvanshi saved his best for the last and completed his century in just 55 balls to become the second fastest centurion in the history of the U-19 World Cup. His 175-run knock is now the best individual score in a U-19 World Cup final.

Chasing an improbable target of 412, England’s Caleb Falconer played a remarkable 67-ball 115, but the massive target proved too big for the Three Lions in the end.

For India, RS Ambrish picked up three wickets while Deepesh Devendran and Kanishk Chouhan bagged two wickets apiece.
