CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the new building of Yamkeshwar Inter College. He said that true development happens with culture and education. The government’s focus is on making villages self-reliant and modern education infrastructure.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the newly constructed building of Inter College located at Yamkeshwar in Pauri Garhwal during his visit to Uttarakhand on Friday. On this occasion, he said that material development is not the ultimate goal of life, rather it is only a means to fulfill the needs. True development is that which moves forward with civilization, culture and spiritual values.
Education should not be limited to bookish knowledge only: Chief Minister
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that educational institutions will have to move forward with the thought that schools should not just impart knowledge from books, but should become centers of values, skills and life building. During the program, he also honored the meritorious students of the school by giving them awards.
Modern education infrastructure in rural areas is the priority of the government.
At the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister said that this new and grand building is now dedicated to the students and teachers. Soon furniture and all other basic facilities will also be provided here. He said that the focus of the double engine Uttarakhand government is to develop modern education and health infrastructure in rural areas also, so that students do not have to leave the village and go to the city for studies.
New opportunity for Uttarakhand in the silver jubilee year
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has entered the silver jubilee year of its establishment. This is an opportunity not only for material development but also for moving forward with the preservation of cultural and spiritual values. If culture is not preserved, even material progress will become meaningless.
Progress is possible only through eternal tradition and positive thinking
Referring to the Sanatan tradition, the Chief Minister said that the Gotra system is a symbol of gratitude towards our sage tradition. The ancient Gurukuls were not just centers of learning, but also centers of training in agriculture, Ayurveda, skills and life values. The student who came out from there did not consider himself helpless in any situation. He said that only he achieves success in life, who moves forward with positive thinking and continuous hard work. Negative thinking leads a person to downfall.
Mother Saraswati’s blessings are upon those who work hard.
The Chief Minister said that some people question the prayer to Maa Saraswati in schools, whereas Maa Saraswati does not belong to any caste or sect. The one who works hard and thinks in the right direction, gets his blessings automatically. Referring to the National Education Policy 2020 implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that this policy links education with skill development and overall personality building.
Today Yamkeshwar area is connected with better connectivity system
Sharing his past experiences, the Chief Minister said that when this Inter College was established in the year 1965, there was neither electricity, nor roads nor modern facilities. Today, electricity, drinking water, roads and better connectivity are available in every village. Yamkeshwar Mahadev Temple, which was earlier accessible only on foot, is today connected by road and connectivity.
Equal responsibility of teachers and students
He said that earlier the school building was dilapidated, today a new and grand building is available. The government has provided facilities, now it is the responsibility of the teachers to improve the quality of education and it is the responsibility of the students to study with full dedication. Schools should not only be education but also the pillars of culture and civilization.
The need of the hour is to make villages self-reliant
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is Devbhoomi. The youth here protect the borders of the country and contribute in every field. The water coming from the Himalayas makes the entire North India fertile. He said that villages are the root of our civilization. The stronger the roots, the stronger the society. Villages will have to be developed as centers of education, innovation, research and self-reliance.
The school building should be used for preparation for competitive examinations.
Appreciating the cooperation of Aditya Birla Group, the Chief Minister said that with their cooperation this building was completed on time. He said that this building should be used for competitive examinations, special classes and skill development. Referring to the ‘Abhyudaya Coaching’ model, he said that through digital and physical medium, rural and poor students can be prepared for examinations like IIT-JEE, NEET.
Emphasis on conservation of local resources
The Chief Minister stressed the need to connect schools with tourism, horticulture, agriculture and local resources. He said that Yamkeshwar area has pure water and natural wealth, whose conservation and proper utilization is necessary. Only positive efforts become inspiration for the society and educational institutions are the center of this inspiration.
