After Noida techie’s death, Delhi man killed as bike falls into open construction pit in Janakpuri

New Delhi: A tragic road accident in Delhi’s Janakpuri area claimed the life of a motorcyclist after he fell into an open pit on the road. The deceased has been identified as Kamal, a resident of Kailashpuri. The incident occurred late at night while he was returning home from his office in Rohini.

According to family members, Kamal was in constant touch with his family over the phone during his journey. However, when he failed to reach home till late night, the family grew worried and went out searching for him. Despite continuous efforts, they were unable to trace him. At around 7:30 am on Friday, the police informed the family about the incident.

When they reached the spot, Kamal was found lying inside the pit along with his motorcycle. As per initial information, construction work was underway at the site by the Delhi Jal Board and a pit had been dug on the road.

The fatal accident took place in the Vidhan Sabha constituency of Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood. The victim’s family has expressed deep anger over the incident and is demanding strict action against the departments responsible for the alleged negligence.

Police have registered a case and are currently investigating the matter.

Last month, Noida-based software engineer Yuvraj Mehta lost his life after his car fell into an unmarked, waterlogged pit in Sector 150, leaving him trapped for several hours amid heavy fog. Following the incident, the Uttar Pradesh government removed Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M, ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe and filed FIRs against developers for alleged negligence at the construction site.
