God’s Maya and his wife’s name is also Maya.
During the satsang, a devotee put his interesting dilemma before Premanand Maharaj. The devotee said, Maharaj ji, I am surrounded by double illusion. On one side is God’s Maya and on the other side is my wife, whose name is also ‘Maya’. Are these two obstacles for me? The devotee himself shared his understanding and asked whether Maya is not a hindrance as long as we know how to control our desires? On this Maharaj ji gave a very beautiful and deep answer.
Premanand Maharaj gave the mantra
Premanand Maharaj explained that the real problem is not the outside world or your wife, but the lust within you. If you get control over your desires and senses and keep your behavior right towards society and family, then Maya will never bother you.
Give up pride, adopt humility
According to Premanand Maharaj, Maya is a ‘divine power’ of God. No person can conquer Maya on the strength of his ego. The only way to overcome this is humility. Only by surrendering before God and bringing softness in nature can one cross the ocean of this world safely.
Wife is not illusion, she is better half and life.
Speaking specifically on the devotee’s question, Premanand Maharaj said that your better half is like your soul. Just as we take care of our body, our wife should be respected and nurtured. What you are considering as an obstacle, if your conduct is correct, then the same wife will become your biggest ally in the journey of this world and the next world. “
If conduct is correct then illusion is also blissful.
Premanand Maharaj gave a very deep example and said that Maya is like a mother who nourishes us. The real cause of suffering is not Maya, but our wrong thoughts, wrong conduct and sinful actions. If we purify our thoughts and take recourse to the name of God, then this illusion becomes the path to happiness for us.
