Scottie Scheffler, the world’s top-ranked golfer, is set to compete in this year’s Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club from 10-13 July.
After missing last year due to his Olympic gold medal win in Paris, Scheffler returns to a highly competitive field. This event will feature the current top five players globally and seven of the top ten, all preparing for The Open Championship.
Scheffler will be joined by notable golfers such as Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and Justin Thomas. Additionally, European Ryder Cup members Ludvig Aberg and Sepp Straka are also set to participate. This lineup promises intense competition as these elite players vie for the title.

In 2025, Scheffler had a slow start but soon found his stride by winning the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow. He then successfully defended his title at the Memorial Tournament. Over three years, he has accumulated an impressive 16 victories, showcasing his consistent performance on the tour.
Scheffler first played in the Scottish Open in 2021, finishing tied for 12th after a remarkable second-round score of 63. Although he missed the cut in 2022, he bounced back in 2023 with scores of 68-65-67-70 to secure third place behind Rory McIlroy.
