The Government of India has extended the final deadline of CAA to 31 December 2024. Now till this date, minorities will be allowed to live in India from there from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The Union Home Ministry has given this information.
Caa cut off date: Due to religious harassment from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, there is a relief news for the people of minority communities coming to India. The minorities (Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians) coming to India from these three countries till December 31, 2024 have been allowed to stay in India even without passports or other travel documents. The Union Home Ministry has given this information. For this, the last date for CAA (Citizenship (Amendment) Act) has been extended.
Relief time limit under CAA extended to 31 December 2024
CAA came into force last year. According to this, people of the minority communities of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan come to India to avoid harassment there by 31 December 2014. Now this deadline has been extended to 31 December 2024.
The order issued under the recently implemented Immigration and Foreign Act, 2025 (Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025) will bring relief for a large number of people especially Hindus from Pakistan. These people came to India after 2014 and were worried about their future.

What is Caa?
CAA 2019 is a law related to India’s citizenship which passed from Parliament on 11 December 2019. The 2019 CAA amended the Citizenship Act of 1955. This gave Indian citizenship to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian religious minorities. These people fled from neighboring Muslim -dominated countries Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan before December 2014 for fear of religious harassment or religious harassment. On March 11 last year, the Government of India notified the rules and implemented the CAA.
