There are many theories regarding the death of the Prophet, the founder of Islam and preacher of the Quran. Some say that his death was natural while some, especially Shia Muslims, believe that the Prophet died due to poisoning.
The Prophet was poisoned by a Jewish woman, after which he died. Let us know the story behind this-
how did he die
It is said that from the time Prophet Mohammad attained the knowledge of Allah till his death, he was attacked several times. Many evidences of this are found in Islamic texts. This is also known from historical literature. The biggest attack on the Prophet was made by a woman. Due to this attack, his death has not been considered natural.
Woman fed poisonous meat
In the year 629, the Prophet invaded Khyber, an area of Arabia, to spread Islam. Many Jews lost their lives in the battle to conquer Khaybar. This fight took place between Muslims and Jews. The Prophet won this battle but the families of many women were ruined. One of these women was Zainab bint Al Harid. Zainab wanted to take revenge for the murder of her family. Regarding this incident, it is mentioned in Hadith and Sira that the cause of his death was poisonous meat.
Prophet’s tragic death
Sunan Abu Dawood Hadith No. 4512 reveals that Zainab killed a goat, mixed poisonous substance in it and fed it to the Prophet. Zainab thought that if the Prophet dies due to this poison then he is an ordinary human being and if he does not die then he has been sent by Allah. The Prophet had tasted that meat. He remained in pain for 4 years. The Prophet knew that the woman had poisoned him but he still forgave her. Doctors also tried many remedies for him but they could not do anything. During the last days of Prophet Mohammad, his mental condition started deteriorating. He was also suspicious of the people around him. Once he suspected Ayesha because Ayesha had given him medicine.
