Then the sage asked Shri Ram to observe fast on Vijaya Ekadashi. The sage told the Lord that by the power of this fast, you will be able to cross the ocean and also conquer Ravana. After this, Lord Shri Ram observed the fast of Vijaya Ekadashi and achieved victory over Ravana, the king of Lanka, and freed Mother Sita from her captivity.
