UP Villages Waste to Wealth Model: In the villages of Uttar Pradesh, income is being generated by constructing roads from plastic waste and making fertilizer from organic waste. With the Waste to Wealth model, villages are becoming clean, self-reliant and economically strong.
Uttar Pradesh Waste to Wealth Model: The rural areas of Uttar Pradesh are no longer limited to agriculture only, but are emerging as a new model of cleanliness, technology and innovation. Experiments like construction of roads from plastic waste, door-to-door garbage collection and income generation by making compost from it have started changing the picture of villages. So far, about 75 km long roads have been built from plastic waste in the capital Lucknow as well as in districts like Rampur, Amethi, Lalitpur and Etah. This initiative is becoming an example of sustainable development along with environmental protection.
UP Waste to Wealth Model: New way to earn money from waste
According to Panchayati Raj Department Director Amit Kumar Singh, a master plan for waste management in the state has been prepared on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Under this scheme, garbage is being collected from house to house in Gram Panchayats. Vermicompost is being made from the collected organic waste, from which an income of more than Rs 3 crore has been generated so far. At the same time, additional earnings of Rs 29 lakh have also been made through plastic waste management units. This entire system is based on ‘Waste to Wealth’ model.
Swachh Gaon Mahabhiyan: Garbage becomes resource
Under the Swachh Gaon Mahabhiyan run by the Panchayati Raj Department, garbage is not being seen as a burden but as a resource. Roads are being built from plastic waste and the income of Panchayats is being increased by preparing fertilizer from organic waste. Due to these efforts, the villages are not only becoming clean but are also becoming economically strong. This is creating new opportunities for self-reliance and employment in rural areas.
Innovation based experiments will be conducted in every village
The government plans to take this model to every village of the state. This is a major step towards empowering villages by combining cleanliness, environment protection and income generation. Through these innovative experiments, the villages of Uttar Pradesh are now rapidly moving towards becoming modern, clean and self-reliant.
Safe environment from plastic waste utilization
According to Amit Kumar Singh, the Panchayati Raj Department is fully committed to strengthening Gram Panchayats through innovation. Village-to-village cleanliness campaign and plastic waste utilization are not only making the environment safe but also generating income worth crores of rupees.
