Tirumala: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu alleged that facts would not change if YSRCP leaders tried to deny their involvement in Tirumala laddu ghee adulteration case.
He announced that a one-member panel has been set up to take corrective measures after the SIT report was submitted in the case.
In-depth investigation to be done:
Speaking at a press conference, he said, “We are constituting a one-member committee to investigate the Tirumala laddu adulterated ghee issue. The CBI has submitted a report recommending action. Based on that report, the one-member commission will study all the shortcomings and conduct a more in-depth investigation.
We will place all the reports before the one-member committee. Those who have committed the wrongdoings will not be spared.”
He noted that after he became the CM in 2024, as part of the ‘cleansing process’ of TTD, ghee samples were sent to NDDB-CALF which clearly stated that it was adulterated with animal fat.
Naidu further described the adulteration of ghee as the ‘greatest sin against god’ and said that YSRCP government committed a ‘sin’ by indulging in the adulteration. He also said that many temples in the state were attacked under the previous government.
Ghee adulteration case:
In September 2024, Naidu alleged that animal fat and substandard ingredients were used in the preparation of the consecrated laddus of Venkateswara Swamy temple.
A CBI-led Special Investigation Team (SIT) has submitted its report to a court in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh.
