These bacteria can cause diarrhea, vomiting, stomach ache, and even infections like sepsis and listeria in children. If a child drinks raw milk, he may suffer from diarrhea, which leads to dehydration in the body. In some cases, this infection spreads so rapidly that the child’s condition becomes serious.

Dr. Himanshu explains that vomiting and diarrhea are common due to raw milk, but in some cases it causes listeriosis which is caused by infection like listeria present in milk. This infection affects the brain and nervous system, which can prove fatal for the child. Once the effect of this infection reaches the brain, it becomes difficult to save life.

Why are children younger than 5 years at greater risk?

Dr. Himanshu explains that the immune system of children younger than 5 years does not develop properly. Because of this he can easily become victim of any type of infection. Although it is not necessary that every child’s immunity is weak, but it definitely happens in some children. In such a situation, try not to give raw milk to small children.

Try to give more cow’s milk to children below 5 years of age. Because buffalo milk is not that easy to digest. Cow’s milk is easily saved.
