UPSC Exam 2026 Registration Last Date: When can you apply?
According to the notification issued by the Commission, the last date to apply is 24 February 2026. Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Prelims) will be conducted on 24 May 2026. In such a situation, candidates are advised not to wait for the last date and complete the application process on time.
UPSC Civil Services Eligibility Criteria: Who can apply?
To apply for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026, the candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university. Having a degree from a university established by the Central or State Government, an institution established by an Act of Parliament or a university recognized under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 will be valid. Apart from this, candidates having equivalent qualification can also apply. Talking about age limit, the minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years and maximum age should be 32 years. That is, the candidate should not be born before 2 August 1994 and not after 1 August 2005.
UPSC Civil Services Application Fee: What is the application fee?
The application fee for Civil Services Examination 2026 has been kept at Rs 100. However, women candidates, SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) category candidates are completely exempted from the application fee. Fees can be paid through online mode, with options available like Debit Card, Credit Card, Visa, Master, RuPay and UPI. Apart from this, the candidates who qualify the Prelims exam and get selected for the Civil Services Main Examination (Mains) will have to deposit an additional fee of Rs 200 in the window of 10 days after the Prelims result.
