Mirzapur The Movie release date: One of India’s most influential OTT franchises is officially heading to the big screen. Mirzapur: The Movie has locked its worldwide theatrical release for September 4, 2026, marking the first-ever cinema outing for the gritty crime universe that redefined Indian streaming.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner, with Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani as co-producers. The screenplay is penned by Puneet Krishna, the creative force behind the original series.

The film expands the Mirzapur universe with a previously untold chapter, designed specifically for theatres. The makers are keeping plot details under wraps as of now.

Fans will be thrilled to know that several iconic characters are returning. Pankaj Tripathi reprises his role as Kaleen Bhaiya, the cold and calculating kingpin of Mirzapur. Ali Fazal returns as Guddu Pandit, whose violent rise has been central to the franchise’s appeal. The film also marks the highly anticipated comeback of Munna Bhaiya, played by Divyenndu, a character whose popularity continues to dominate fan conversations.

The ensemble cast further strengthens the project. The film features Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Duggal, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Gaur, Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sonal Chauhan, Pramod Pathak, and Anangsha Biswas.
