Priyanka Chopra’s husband and Hollywood singer Nick Jonas has shared a very emotional and personal experience related to the birth of their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. He told that Malti was born before the scheduled time and in very serious conditions. Nick’s eyes became moist while remembering that period. Actually, Nick Jonas was talking in Jai Shetty’s podcast. During this, he said that today when he sees his daughter playing and smiling, he cannot believe how much battle she has won to reach here.
Malti was supposed to be born in April, but it happened in January itself.
Nick spoke openly about Malti’s birth for the first time. He said, “She came into this world under very difficult circumstances, which I have never talked about before. We were thinking that she would be born in April, but suddenly we got a call that the delivery would be earlier. We reached the hospital and when she was born, she was just 1 pound 11 ounces. Her color was almost purple.”
Malti remained hospitalized for three and a half months after birth
Nick Jonas further told that immediately after birth, Malti was taken to NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), where the nurses tried their best to save her life. According to him, it was the period of Covid-19, which made his circumstances even more difficult. He says, “My wife and I used to stay in the hospital for 12-12 hours every day. This continued for three and a half months. I still remember the smell of that place. Staying there every day was both relaxing and scary at the same time, because we saw other families also going through the same pain.”
Priyanka-Nick’s daughter Malti had to undergo blood transfusion 6 times
Nick Jonas became emotional while talking about Malti. He said through tears, “She (Malti) kept fighting every day. Gradually her weight started increasing. After six blood transfusions, her condition started improving. After three and a half months, we were able to bring her home. Today when I see her, I am amazed that I got a chance to be a part of her magical world.”
