Rickie Fowler Reveals PGA Tour Nightmare: The Terrifying Tee Shot at Colonial!

Rickie Fowler Reveals His Most Feared Tee Shot on the PGA Tour at Colonial Country Club

The Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club is heating up with Ben Griffin and Matti Schmid leading the pack at 11-under-par after two rounds.

Amidst the competition, Rickie Fowler has positioned himself nicely in a tie for seventh place at six-under-par, alongside Tommy Fleetwood, setting the stage for an exciting weekend of golf action.

Despite Scottie Scheffler trailing by 10 shots at one-under-par, it’s too early to count out the three-time major champion. However, among the big names ready to make a charge, Fowler seems to be in the best position to climb up the leaderboard and contend for the title.

Following a stellar six-under-par round of 64 on Friday, which included an impressive 29 on his front-nine, Fowler expressed his admiration for Colonial Country Club but admitted to having a particular dislike for one hole on the course. The 36-year-old American golfer highlighted the challenging nature of the fifth hole at Colonial, labeling it as one of his least favorite tee shots on the PGA Tour.

Fowler, a six-time PGA Tour winner, is hungry for another victory, with his last win dating back to July 2023. Despite facing a five-shot deficit at the Charles Schwab Challenge, Fowler remains optimistic about his chances and aims to end his winless streak in Fort Worth this week.

The golfer explained the difficulties of the fifth hole, stating, “I don’t know if you’re going to find many guys that like the tee shot on five… If you hit a good one, it’s great and you get it in play up there. I only had 8-iron in today. I made a poor iron swing, but it’s kind of the more you take on off the tee, it can make the hole easier from there, but it’s just a good, tough hole. You have to step up and hit a good tee shot.”

With his undeniable talent, Fowler is eager to add more wins to his name and is determined to make a strong comeback at Colonial Country Club. As the Charles Schwab Challenge unfolds, all eyes are on Fowler as he strives to deliver a standout performance in the upcoming rounds and potentially secure a victory that could reignite his career on the PGA Tour.
