Top Defence sources have revealed fresh details about Operation Sindoor, India’s counterterror response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
The details reveal the nature and scale of the operation and the extent of the damage inflicted on Pakistan military. As per the sources, several Indian women pilots were a part of the high-intensity midnight operation. The most devastating blow was delivered on May 7, when over 170 terrorists were eliminated in a single coordinated precision strike. “Maximum damage was caused in Bahawalpur, which housed key terror infrastructure,” the sources said. The following days, India targeted Pakistani airbases using BrahMos missiles. “BrahMos did severe damage. Several airbases were badly damaged,” a source confirmed to Times Now. India achieved complete accuracy in targeting, with officials calling the operation one of “spectacular precision”. “We hit all the targets we planned,” the sources added. While India lost 7 personnel during Operation Sindoor, 42 Pakistani military personnel were killed in Indian strikes. The operation has left Pakistan “badly humiliated”, the source pointed out, with Indian defence forces being on high alert for any potential retaliation. “Pakistan will try to do something to save face. Our forces have been told to be prepared. Operation Sindoor has not ended, only paused,” the sources said. The sources also attributed the success of the Operation Sindoor to strategic decisions taken in the aftermath of the 2017 Doklam standoff with China, which prompted a reassessment of India’s military readiness. The sources also called Pakistan’s decision to promote Army Chief General Asim Munir to Field Marshal as a “face-saving gesture”, in the wake of the heavy losses and public embarrassment inflicted by Operation Sindoor.
