Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved Rs 261.91 crore for the modernization and expansion of Ganga Cooperative Sugar Mill Morna. This will increase crushing capacity, farmers will get timely payment and local employment will be boosted.
Lucknow. Bharatiya Kisan Union (Apolitical) national spokesperson Dharmendra Malik paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday. During this, he expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for the approval of Rs 261.91 crore for the modernization and expansion of The Ganga Cooperative Sugar Mill located in Morna, Muzaffarnagar.
Historic decision for sugarcane farmers of Western Uttar Pradesh
Dharmendra Malik said that this decision is historic for lakhs of sugarcane farmers and sugar industry of western Uttar Pradesh. He said that this decision taken by the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is a big step towards increasing the income of farmers, ensuring timely sugarcane payment and modernizing the sugar industry.
Crushing capacity will increase from 2500 TCD to 5000 TCD
Malik informed that the crushing capacity of The Ganga Cooperative Sugar Mill will be increased from 2500 TCD to 3500 TCD in the first phase and there are plans to take it to 5000 TCD in future. For this, a project worth about Rs 262 crore has been approved, which will significantly improve the production capacity and efficiency of the mill.
Timely payment to farmers and promotion of local employment
This modernization will speed up the crushing process, so that farmers will be able to get payment for sugarcane on time. Also, the expansion of the mill will create new employment opportunities at the local level and increase economic activities in the area. This decision will prove beneficial not only for the farmers of Morna region but also for the entire western Uttar Pradesh.
Promotion of modern technology and environment friendly system
Dharmendra Malik said that due to the visionary thinking of the Chief Minister, the efficiency of the mill will increase and environment friendly technologies will be promoted. This will give a modern look to the sugar industry and strengthen the economic security of the farmers.
Confidence increased through farmer welfare schemes
He said that timely cane price payment, modernization of sugar mills, expansion of irrigation facilities, rural infrastructure development and farmer-friendly schemes by the Uttar Pradesh government have strengthened the confidence and sense of security in the minds of farmers. Malik expressed hope that the sugarcane sector of the state will continue to progress under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
