UAE will host Bangladesh in the second and final T20I at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on May 19. Bangladesh are 1-0 ahead in the series after beating UAE by 27 runs in the first game.
The Tigers were favourites heading into the contest, but UAE put them in trouble many times during the contest.Parvez Hossain was brilliant with the bat and scored a 54-ball century, however, other batters struggled to get going. The second highest scorer in the Bangladesh innings was extras – 21. For UAE, Jawadullah was the pick of the bowlers and bagged four wickets for 21 runs. Hossain’s hundred ensured that Bangladesh put up a strong total of 191-7, however, UAE will take pride that they kept other batters in check. It will also induce confidence in their bowling attack that they can restrict the Bangladesh batting to a low score.UAE started the chase in fine fashion and added 40 runs for the first wicket before losing back-to-back wickets. A handy 62-run partnership between Muhammad Waseem (54) and Rahul Chopra (35) put UAE in a good position to win. At 103-2 in the 12th over, UAE were in with a chance, however, they lost the plot after the wicket of Waseem and suffered a defeat despite Asif Khan fighting till the end, scoring 42 in 21 balls.
